Trump Destroys Marjorie Taylor Greene For “Being A Traitor”

President Donald Trump once again called Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene a traitor on Saturday as he responded to her resignation announcement. He added that she went bad after he refused to return her never ending barrage of phone calls.

In a Saturday morning post on Truth Social, Trump said his piece about the Georgia congresswoman’s decision to leave office.

“Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown, because of PLUMMETING Poll Numbers, and not wanting to face a Primary Challenger with a strong Trump Endorsement (where she would have no chance of winning!), has decided to call it ‘quits.'”

The president continued by criticizing her alliance with another Republican he has feuded with.

“Her relationship with the WORST Republican Congressman in decades, Tom Massie of Kentucky, also known as Rand Paul Jr. because he votes against the Republican Party (and really good legislation!), did not help her. For some reason, primarily that I refused to return her never ending barrage of phone calls, Marjorie went BAD. Nevertheless, I will always appreciate Marjorie, and thank her for her service to our Country!”

Trump later was asked by a reporter if he was willing to forgive Greene.

“Forgive for what? No. We just — I just disagreed with her philosophy. She started backing perhaps the worst Republican congressman in our history, just, you know, a stupid person named Massie. And, I said, ‘go your own way.’ And once I left her, she resigned because she would never have survived a primary. But I think she’s a nice person.”

Greene announced late Friday she will resign her seat in Congress. This came one week after Trump publicly pulled his endorsement of the outspoken Georgia lawmaker.

In a lengthy statement posted to X, Greene cited her growing disillusionment with Washington politics. She blasted what she called a corrupt Political Industrial Complex that she said uses Americans as pawns in an endless game of division.

“Americans are used by the Political Industrial Complex of both political parties, election cycle after election cycle, in order to elect whichever side can convince Americans to hate the other side more. And the results are always the same — nothing ever gets better for the common American man or woman.”

Greene was once one of President Trump’s fiercest defenders. She acknowledged that his recent public break was hurtful but said her faith and convictions remain intact. Trump has called Greene wacky and a ranting lunatic in recent weeks.

“My heart remains filled with joy, my life is filled with happiness, and my true convictions remain unchanged because my self worth is not defined by a man, but instead by God who created everything in existence.”

Greene announced her departure date in her statement.

“I will be resigning from office with my last day being January 5, 2026. I’m going back to the people I love.”

The falling out between Trump and Greene represents one of the most dramatic political breakups in recent memory. Greene built her entire political brand around fierce loyalty to Trump and became one of his most vocal supporters in Congress.

Her association with Representative Tom Massie appears to have been the breaking point. Massie has clashed with Trump on several issues including the Epstein files legislation and various spending bills where he voted against the Republican majority.

Trump pulled his endorsement of Greene last week and hinted he would back a primary challenger against her. With plummeting poll numbers and the prospect of facing a Trump-backed opponent, Greene apparently decided resignation was preferable to a humiliating primary defeat.

The Georgia congresswoman’s exit will trigger a special election in the state’s 14th congressional district. The Cook Political Report rates the district as Solid R meaning Republicans are heavily favored to win regardless of which candidate emerges from the primary.

Greene’s statement about the Political Industrial Complex and her criticism of both parties suggests she may be positioning herself for a different kind of political role in the future. However, without Trump’s support, her path forward in Republican politics appears severely limited.

The president’s revelation that he stopped returning her calls provides insight into how the relationship soured. Greene apparently tried repeatedly to mend fences but Trump was unwilling to engage with her after she aligned herself with Massie.
