Springfield, Ohio has been in the news over the past few weeks. Much of it has to do with the large number of Haitian migrants that have been dumped into the small town.

Soon after the migrants appeared, there were reports of them eating various small animals – ducks and geese from the ponds and even cats and dogs from people’s homes.

Are they eating people’s pets? Trump says yes. Some neighbors in the area say yes. However, the Democrats vehemently deny such things going on.

Now, there’s another problem.

Springfield City Hall was evacuated due to a bomb threat involving several city, county, and school buildings. The threat, linked to frustrations over Haitian immigration issues, prompted police to clear multiple locations with the aid of bomb-detecting dogs. Schools were evacuated, and parents were asked to pick up children early. Authorities, including the FBI and local law enforcement, are investigating the source of the threat. City Hall remained closed throughout Thursday and Friday for safety precautions.

Springfield Police Chief Allison Elliott has said, “Safety is a shared responsibility and it takes all of us; I encourage the public, if you see something, say something.”

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has promised to send troopers and has earmarked more money for the city over the next two years. “These dramatic surges impact every citizen of the community, every citizen.”

Money and troopers will help, but will it be enough to calm everything down throughout Springfield? Only time will tell.
